Texas Civil War Reenactment of Culp’s Hill

On Saturday October 15 and Sunday October 16, a reenactment of the fighting at Culp’s Hill during the Gettysburg battle will be portrayed by the Texas 6th Infantry and other Texas reenactment groups.  This will take place at Enchanted Springs Ranch, 3 miles west of Boerne, Texas, on highway 46. The battle will be held at 2 o’clock on Saturday and 1 o’clock on Sunday.   This is one of the largest reenactments in Texas.

This event will give folks the opportunity to not only see the battle but to visit the military camps and learn about the life of the Civil War soldier.  Re-enactors are meticulous in having accurate replicas of their uniforms as well as their equipment and we have found them to be happy to share their knowledge of the period. If you are interested in souvenirs or reenactment uniforms or supplies, there will be Civil War era sutlers selling these items.

At Frontier Traveler we believe walking in the steps of history adds much to our understanding of historical events and, for those with children, attending events such as this can provide the spark that lights their love of history.
